PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS: PlaySoup can provide you with a PDF file of print ready artwork, pre-printed posters, a promotional DVD and photos at your request. There are many elements that go into a successful event. If you're promoting an event that's open to the public, promoting the event should start no later than 4-6 weeks prior to the scheduled date. Contact your local newspaper, PBS community calendar, or online calendar 8-12 weeks prior to the event and get them the information. Use email and mailing lists to get the word out. If you'd like a customized press release for your event, you can request that at playsoup@playsoup.com

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Our technical needs vary depending the number of programs we're doing and on our mode of transportation. NOTE: More than two different programs (not the same program multiple times) will necessitate our driving to the event. While we strive to spread travel costs among different stops on a tour, it's not always possible to do so. Here are our technical requirements:

SPACE REQUIREMENTS:
1. A cleared, flat performance area or platform measuring approx. 25 feet in width and no less than 13 feet from front to back.
2. A ceiling clearance of at least 10 feet.
3. If there are any windows immediately behind or to the side of the platform area, and if the program is scheduled during daylight hours, we request that the windows be shaded or covered with black plastic.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

DRIVING TO THE EVENT:
We are mostly self-sufficient on tour, carrying a small sound system (adequate up to 300 persons) and a small analog lighting system. If possible, we do request:
     1. A direct box input into the sound system (especially for audiences larger than 300). We don't require a sound technician during the program, as we run our own levels, but it is nice to have someone help us plug in and set house monitor levels.
     2. If the performance area is equipped with good stage lighting, we do ask to utilize those in place of our system. This may also require a lighting technician to raise and lower the light levels, especially during blacklight songs. We will provide a cue sheet if necessary.

FLYING TO THE EVENT: Due to the constraints of baggage and shipping, we can only fly with two programs maximum. At our discretion, we may omit elements of a program to 'make everything fit.' If there's a performance piece you definitely want us to bring, please specify that. When flying, we request the following:
     1. An amplified sound system and mixing board adequate to the size of the performance area. (Boom boxes and karaoke machines do not constitute adequate sound).
     2. 4 XLR inputs. We require 2 for our wireless headset microphones, one for our CD player, and one for our DVD player.
     3. A
quality video projector capable of zooming down to 48" diagonally, on an A/V stand. Some of our programs do utilize video support. We will bring our own small rear projection screen.
     4. A small 4-6 foot folding table backstage.
     5. 2 adult-sized folding chairs.
     6. 2 straight microphone stands (NOT boom stands) with the mic clips removed.
     7. 2 accessible grounded electrical outlets or heavy duty grounded cords.
     8. 1 multiplug outlet strip w/6 outlets
     9. 2 tables (preferably covered and skirted) in the foyer or rear of the auditorium for product and information placement.
    10. 4 bottles of water (per program)
    11. An accessible bathroom or changing room near the platform.
    12. A storage room or area backstage or close to the platform.
